NITROX Certification

The purpose of the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Course is to familiarize you with the procedures, safety protocols, hazards, risks, benefits and theory of no decompression diving with oxygen enriched air containing 22% to 36% oxygen. Class price includes Nitrox manual and certification card.

Nitrox is a mixture containing more than 21% oxygen. Since it has a higher level of O2, it has a lower level of nitrogen. On Nitrox, you can stay down longer before your body absorbs that critical amount of nitrogen that determines your no-decompression limit, thus extending your bottom times.

Enriched Air Nitrox can extend bottom times at your favorite wrecks or ledges.
